At Universal Lamp & Projector we only sell lamps that perform to the original manufacturers specification to ensure that your projector operates at its’ optimum performance levels.

What is an "Original Lamp?"

Original Lamps are manufactured by the OEM or Original Equipment Manufacturer. This is the company that made the lamp originally supplied with your projector when it was new. This is usually the same manufacturer that made your projector. However, sometimes this is another projector manufacturer. For example: Sanyo makes projectors and brands them for other projector makers. In this case you may receive a lamp that is branded Sanyo but fits your non-Sanyo projector. Rest assured if you order an "Original" lamp from us it will always be an OEM.

What is a "Diamond Lamp?"

Some projector models on our site have a Diamond Lamps Bulb or Lamp Assembly available. Diamond Lamps are a cost effective, genuine lamps approved, solution made with Original Manufacturer’s Bulbs and produced to meet or exceed original manufacturer’s performance. Diamond Lamps sources the exact same bulb used by the OEM from one of the Big Three bulb manufacturers. These are Sylvanya, GE, and Philips. They then source the plastic housing from the same manufacturer that provided it to the OEM. Once they have these items they put together the lamp assembly and offer it to us with fewer steps to market. This means you can buy, essentially, the same product without paying for the brand name or paying for several middle-men. All Diamond Lamps are manufactured identical to Original OEM and recommended for use in your projector whenever available. To show our trust and build your faith in this product we offer an extended 120 day warranty on all Diamond Lamps products we sell.

What is a "Smart Alternative Lamp?"

Smart Alternative lamps are our newest offering. These lamps come to us after nearly two years of searching for a quality 3rd party manufacturer. Smart Alternative lamps are not OEM but more like a generic or "Drug Store Brand." We have searched high and low to find only the best quality 3rd party lamps. These lamps have been found to perform very well and we stand behind them with an extended 120 day warranty.
